Hypothesis
ME/CFS is an infectious disease:
- The causal pathogen can be transmitted by casual contact.
- The causal pathogen persists in patients during the illness.
- Host factors determine susceptibility to the illness.
- There is a population of healthy carriers who may be able to shed the pathogen.
