The coming Kaposi's Sarcoma epidemic could reveal these four things about AIDS and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

1. The AIDS drugs really don't work as advertised. If they don't prevent or treat Kaposi's Sarcoma they are really not AIDS drugs. They are masking the real epidemic. That would indicate that most AIDS research is "garbage in, garbage out." Scientists need to tear down the AIDS paradigm and build a new one. The fact that a company that Robert Gallo helped start now says 65% of gay men may be infected with the Kaposi's Sarcoma virus (HHV-8) indicates that there needs to be immediate attention given to this emerging medical crisis.

2. If HIV is not the cause of AIDS scientists will have to begin looking at the HHV-6/7/8 family of viruses and the endogenous retrovirus (HERV-K18) that HHV-6 reactivates/induces. That endogenous retrovirus acts as a superantigen that is associated with immune dysfunction.

3. Scientists will need to consider the possibiity that AIDS is a spectrum of the HHV-6/7/8 family of viruses that includes Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and other immunological illnesses like MS and autism. 

4. If HHV-6 and HHV-8 came from pigs it will confirm that AIDS and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are zoonotic epidemics and explain why pets of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome patients often develop an illness that resembles Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
